Tips on how to choose the right size curtains.

Ready-made curtains come in pairs of 2 Curtains and generally come in 3 Widths & 3 Lengths.

WIDTHS

Narrow – 46 inch wide – This size is suitable for narrow windows only.

Standard – 66 inch wide – This size suits medium sized windows and is generally wide enough for bedroom windows in a semi-detached house.
Wide – 90 inch wide – This size generally suits Living room windows and double patio doors.

DROPS

Short – 54 inch Drop – This size suits windows where there is a radiator under the window and it is preferable not to block the heat.
Standard – 72 inch Drop – This is the most common drop of curtains. The curtains are 6 feet long and generally hang 18 inches from the floor.

Long – 90 inch drop – If you want your curtains full length or to the floor, you will need 90 inch drop curtains. This is generally sufficient for a large bedroom or living room window.

ALTERNATIVES

Some curtains are available in extra wide (132 inch wide), although this is rare. Two pairs of eyelet curtains can be overlapped to create a wider curtain. Curtains may also be sewn together.
Some curtains are also available in extra long (108 inch drop), although this is also rare. If you require wider or longer curtains than these measurements, you will custom made curtains.
